Corporate Volunteering

Whatever your reasons for wanting to arrange an employee volunteering event, whether it be CSR (corporate social responsibility) or team-building, or both, we can design a fun and varied volunteering experience to suit your requirements.

All activities take place at our site with its 130 acres of stunning woodland in the heart of the Somerset countryside, just a short drive from Bristol. You can choose from half-day or full-day events, or for longer periods you can stay at our lodge on site which sleeps up to 38 people. You’ll have access to a fully equipped catering kitchen and the use of our other facilities including the fit pits, BBQ and Yurt. For larger groups, we can also supply tents on our 8-acre field next to the lodge.

We also run monthly community volunteering events from our lodge site, open to anyone who lives nearby and can spare a few hours to help us out. These usually take place on a Monday between 10am and 2pm, and are run on a drop-in basis. The next volunteering day is on Monday 15th July 2024 – head over to our Facebook page to find out more about this and future sessions or email us at goblin.combe@groundwork.org.uk if you’d like to be added to our monthly mailing list.

Volunteer tasks can include; repairing woodland boundary walls and fences, planting raised beds and planters, painting at our lodge site, woodland conservation, and maintenance work such as coppicing and scrub clearance.

For corporate volunteering enquiries, please contact Hannah.Baker@Groundwork.org.uk to discuss your requirements, dates, and fees.

Benefits & Fees

Volunteering with us not only builds stronger team working relationships but also fosters a strong sense of well-being and positivity among teams.

Also, importantly, your volunteering helps us maintain the site for the vital work we carry out with local groups, including mental health charities and addiction treatment centres. We also work with schools, youth groups, and older people in the community, helping to tackle isolation and loneliness.

Groundwork is a registered charity and all funding and income we receive is invested back into our work at Goblin Combe. We charge fees for corporate volunteering events, to cover our staff time, equipment, refreshments and cleaning.
